Traveling literature in Urdu language & Contributions of Mustansar Hussain Tarar in it

Abstract

Travel literature includes many literary genres, such as: history, story, rhetoric, and poetry, and with the abundance of transportation and its speed, the world has become a small village, and this has directly affected the travel literature. Travel literature is a type of literature based on the description of the writers of what he witnessed in his travels, from sociology, events, people, customs, traditions, etc.

The Travel literature moved to Urdu literature in the 20th century. At the beginning of the journey, the travelers pay attention to the facts only and devote their efforts to the history, geography, and then to the conditions of nature, the weather conditions and their details, and also the conditions of the plants and animals. And the Urdu language is a native language, and the Urdu journey did not exist at the beginning, at that time the means of travel and communication were limited. Urdu travels began in the 19th century, where Yusuf Khan Kumblepush's journey was the first effort in Urdu literature, where Yusuf Khan went to England in 1837 and wrote his journey in the name (Ajaibat Farhang = the wonders of English people), and that was the real beginning of the literature of the journey in Urdu literature.

Mustansar Hussain Tarar wrote his first journey when he was a student at the University of London in the field of textile engineering, and it was not a literary journey or an artistic journey, but rather the experiences of the student who went to the international youth Festival. Mustansar wrote more than 20 Travelagues inside and outside the country, The main purpose of this research paper is to describe Travel literature in Urdu literature and Mustansar Hussain Tarar's efforts & contributions in it.
