This study aims to examine the factors of asceticism (zuhd) in the poetry of Sheikh Ghulam Nasir, known as Chilasi Baba, by analyzing the religious, cultural, and spiritual influences that shaped the ascetic tendency in his poetic works. Chilasi Baba is regarded as one of the prominent scholarly and literary figures of the Chilas region in Diamer, Gilgit-Baltistan. This research seeks to highlight how his religious upbringing, devotion to worship, commitment to the pursuit of knowledge, and engagement with Islamic intellectual traditions contributed to the development of an ascetic outlook in his poetry. It also explores how these influences are reflected in the themes of his poetry, particularly those related to wisdom, moral guidance, the transience of worldly life, and the call to focus on the Hereafter
