Shaykh-ul-Islam Ibn-e-Hajar Al-asqalani and his scientific books and his methodology in vocabulary elaboration in the light of Fath-ul-Bari

Abstract

Sayings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in addition to their juristic importance have immense literary importance. Sayings' study has great significance for students of Arabic language & literature to gain profundity in the subject In this research paper, Islamic
scholars' perspective has also been incorporated regarding the study of the sayings in reference to its diction, grammar and inference.. This research paper surrounded the life history of Shaykh-ul-Islam Ibne-Hajer Al-Asqalani (The most famous and prominent scholar of Cairo, Egypt), his scientific efforts and the scientific status of his book : Fath al-Bari commentary of Sahih al-Bukhari's Jamiʿ al-Sahih (817). The purpose of this study was to revive the Arabic Islamic heritage and spread it all over the world.The research methodology used was historical and descriptive.The study was divided into three sections.The first section dealt with the brief biography of Shaykh-ul-Islam Ibne-Hajer Al-Asqalani, the second section threw light on his scientific efforts and the third section revolved around his method of illustration vocabularies (المفردات ) in the light of his book: Fath al-Bari commentary of Sahih al-Bukhari's Jamiʿ al-Sahih.Results: 1-It would highlight the efforts of Ibne-Hajer Al-Asqalani in the various fields of study.2-It would play a significant contribution to the propagation of the Arabic language and its sciences.Recommendations/Suggestions: 1-Its study is very important for the lovers of the prophetic sciences, therefore it is in dire need to be published and divided among the lovers of Arabic and Muslims,so that the Muslims a might benefit from it.2-Its translation into Urdu is very necessary in order to facilitate the understanding of the Hadith for the general public.
