Energy production and consumption stand among the most pressing issues of the modern age, where the accelerating demand for resources frequently intersects with the challenges of environmental degradation, climate change, and unsustainable patterns of development. This research examines the development and utilization of energy resources through the lens of Islamic teachings, highlighting fundamental ethical principles such as the avoidance of extravagance (isrāf), moderation in consumption, constructive and beneficial application, the principle of non-harm (ʿadam al-ḍarar), and the preservation of ecological balance. By drawing guidance from the Qurʾān and Sunnah, the study emphasizes that Islam perceives natural resources as a divine trust (amānah), for which humankind is morally and socially accountable. This perspective extends beyond mere economic benefit, incorporating values of justice, equity, and environmental responsibility. The findings suggest that adherence to these principles can not only help address the global crisis of unsustainable energy consumption but also offer a comprehensive framework for achieving balance (tawāzun) between human welfare and environmental sustainability. Ultimately, the study argues that the Islamic ethical paradigm, if integrated into contemporary energy policies, has the potential to foster both societal well-being and ecological harmony.
