Abstract

Tafsir Muzahiri is a Pashto manuscript consisting of seven volumes. Its author, Maulana Abdul Aziz Muzahiri, was born on May 1, 1924, in Toru, a town in Mardan, and died on October 26, 1997. He completed his Dars-e-Nizami and Dora-e-Hadeeth from Mazahir Uloom Saharanpur. He was the author of many books. Apart from Islamic studies, he was also skilled in other sciences. This Tafsir is the sequel to Hafiz Muhammad Idris's Tafsir “Kashaaf-ul-Qur'an” but in it, the author has made further use of other Urdu tafasir. He started writing this tafsir in 1988 and completed it in 1991. A major feature of the above tafsir is comprehensiveness and brevity. The preface of the tafsir contains many scientific points and benefits. This tafsir is a combination of Tafsir Bal-Mathur and Tafsir Bal-Ray. It also represents his jurisprudence methodology. In this tafsir, special arrangements have been made for scientific theories, modern research, and explanations of forms and doubts. Maulana Abdul Aziz Mazahiri has mentioned the lexical and syntactical aspects in his tafsir. The meanings of difficult words have been explained in Pashto as well as in other languages. It is considered to be an excellent and beneficial tafsir in the Pashto language but due to non-publication, it is not available to the general public.
