The concept of Artistic Image Among The Ancient & The Modern Arabs

Abstract

The artistic image is the product of the interaction of the creator’s imagination with the compositional unity he possesses, in which the idea, emotion, and words combine to present the meaning in an appropriate manner, while revealing the common relationships that link the tangible and intangible things with inspiration or symbol, and thus show the literary work in a comprehensive manner. Studying the image in the poetry of a great Arab poet enables the student to stand on a clear critical basis and apply his sayings to the poetry of this poet. This study is preceded by similar studies, some of which revolved around the artistic image in pre-Islamic poetry and the artistic image in modern Arabic poetry, as it was preceded by studies that attempted to apply one Aspects of the critical concept of the image on specific artistic schools, similar to what happened in the study of the Diwan School of thought, and the poets of resurrection and revival, and the field of its application to our ancient poets remains an open field for study and analysis. This research is based on the introduction, the meaning of the artistic image and the artistic image among ancient and modern Arabs, the results of the research and an index sources and references.
