Prison poetry according to Al-Mu'tamid Ibn Abbad (Analytical Study)

Abstract

In the case of Andalusian prison literature, the potential for this literature to become a source of quasi-historical textual knowledge was not without benefits for students reading the texts. His oral and written works caused the author to be sent to prison on each occasion. Most of these incidents are related to political events. Politics played a major role in the imprisonment of many poets. This includes poets who were imprisoned for no apparent reason. As for prison poetry in the Andalusian era, we find that his speech oscillates, sometimes between difficulty and comfort, and sometimes between clarity and ambiguity. But on the whole, it is lighter and clearer, and if that means anything, it shows a thinking poet discovering the depth of experience.

Common meanings when referring to the poem include a description of a prison, a description of the conditions inside the prison, a description of restrictions and slavery, the desire for freedom, the desire for integrity and freedom in the face of restrictions and imprisonment, and his poems. The desire to reunite him with his family. Some of them expressed in their poetry the meaning of request and request for humility, obedience, kindness, mercy, and forgiveness. Some have asked for forgiveness on their own terms, without humiliation or submission. They defended themselves with courage, self-respect and pride.

 The poet Al-Mutamid bin Abbad, who changed his life of glory and palace to humiliation and humiliation. He wrote his most beautiful poems in prison, and these poems were called “Asriyat.” In addition to the artistic exploration of prison poetry, emphasis will also be placed on the themes of his prison poetry. The latter has received the attention of researchers and scholars, so I wanted to study this topic and help form a clear picture of the poets and poems of these families. Therefore, I decided to conduct a study on this topic entitled “The Prisons of Al-Mu’tamid Ibn Abbad (An Analytical Study).”
