Abstract

Islam is an eternal religion. Consisting upon divine wisdom, its instructions are eternal and everlasting. Islam teaches us how to shape our lives aligned to the nature. Allah (SWT) has enjoined upon us certain limits about Halal and Haram things. The things, Islam has allowed to eat and drink, spend, wear and live with, are all Halal and those are Haram from which it has prohibited. Anything that is originally Halal, but due to certain reasons, the Shariah has disapproved or has asked not to use or leave it, is called “Maqroh” in sharia term. When that reason is removed, it will automatically become Halal. Among human foods, meat which is also called “chief of all foods” is very important. It is obtained from cow, bison, camel, ostrich, chicken and fish. When animals eat Haram food, bad odor comes out of their meat making it disgusting for the sober minded person to eat. By definition, such animal is called “Jalalah”. People are always confused about such animals due to lack of sharia knowledge. In the current article, Jalala will be researched in the light of Sharia principles to see what order Sharia gives about it. And what is the right way, if such animal is to be consumed? So that, people can differentiate between Halal and Haram food with due care.
