An Analytical Study of the Mystical Style of selective Incidents Narrated in Surah Al Imran (In the light of Tafsir Naimi)

Abstract

Allah revealed the Holy Quran for the guidance of mankind which is above all doubts and a treasure of knowledge. It is a living, eternal and universal book. The final divine message in the form of Qur’an was revealed on Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as the guidance for the believers in particular and for humanity in general. Its spirit of understanding has been alive and well in the Muhammadan Ummah since the beginning of Islam. In exchange for this spirit, this Ummah was able to use the Qur'an as an art and bring it to its peak. One aspect of this useful scientific art is the interpretation of the Qur'an. So, its study and understanding is essential not only for the Muslims but it has many secrets for the success and prosperity for the whole humanity as well. The exegetes of the Qur’an have explained these practical and scientific guiding principles as per their deliberations and depth according to their specific methodologies. They have made their utmost efforts in this regard so that the understanding of the Qur’an could be made easy. Among them is Ahmad Yar Khan Naimi, an exegete of the sub-continent, who adapted the interpretation of the Qur'an in a new form and wrote an interpretation in a mystical style, which is a great effort of his art and is also the best guide for the pursuit of spirituality in the modern age. In this article, the selected themes of Surah Al-Imran have been examined in the light of Tafsir Naimi's mystical style.
