Abstract

Islam's concept of human rights is basically based on respect, dignity and equality of mankind. According to the Holy Qur'an, Allah, the Most High, has given the human race superiority and honor over all other creatures. Humanity has been described in the Holy Qur'an with clarity That at the time of creation of Adam, Allah Almighty ordered the angels to prostrate to Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) and thus Adam's race was given superiority over all creatures. Islam uprooted all kinds of discriminations and prejudices based on caste, race, color, sex, language, customs, ancestry and wealth and for the first time in history declared all human beings equal to each other.

The Manifesto of Human Rights in Islam is given by Allah. In Islam, rights and duties are considered interrelated and interdependent.
