A Descriptive study of: The role of the poetic proofs in proving the grammatical issue in the interpretation of Fath al-Qadir by al-Shawkani (Surah Al-Fatiha, Al- Baqarah)

Literature is considered the written works of human thoughts, emotions, and fears, which are expressed using various written methods. It gives a wide scope for to an author to write and express his view literally. It is a fact that literature is closely related to a language. The Arabic language is considered superior than others because of its literature. The Literature of Arabic Language is divided into two kinds Prose and Poetry and both of kinds are important, but the poetry is considered the base and record of this language, so it is used to explain meaning of Arabic words, saying of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and interpret the verses of the Holy Qur’an. Poetry plays an important role in interpretation of the Quranic verses therefore scholars of Islam paid attention to Arabic poetry and placed it in their books. The commentators of the Holy Qur’an cited it in their interpretations as proof for the explaining the issues of syntax, morphology and rhetoric. One of these prominent scholars is Imam Muhammad Al-Shawkani (1250H) who placed the Arabic poetry from different periods of literature to explain these problem in Qur'anic commentary Fath al-Qadir. This research work deal with the work of this great commentator how he cited these poets in his book for proving the grammatical problem. The researcher tried his best to prove his method example as in surah Al-Fatiha and Al-Baqarah.
