Abstract

People who follow Allah's Book and His Messenger (ﷺ) have been known as Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah (SUNNI) from the inception of Islam.

SUNNI was founded on the three primary sects of Ashariyyah, Mataridiyyah and Athiriyyah. In the third century A.H., it became established as the state religion in an effort to put an end to the development of evil and to safeguard humanity from it. The present paper talks about the objectives of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah's research and scholarly attempts to better understand the Qur'an and Sunnah with an emphasis on Sunni people, Ash'ariyyah, Mataridiyyah, and Athriyyah, Quran, and Sunnah.
