Abstract

Alienation is a literary genre that is frequently used in Arabic language. Most of the researchers who dealt with the topic of “alienation” confirmed that its basis was religious, and this was mentioned in the “Arab Philosophical Encyclopedia” that the connotations of the word “alienation” go back to “the heavenly religions, Judaism and Christianity in particular; the alienation of man from his essence when his Lord expelled him from Paradise and sent him down to earth as a punishment for him for disobeying his will. This article aims to present the historical concept of Alienation and its roots in Arabic poetry. The descriptive and analytical method had applied in this research.
