The Beginning of “Ilm Sarf Wa Nahwa(Arabic Grammar)”and periods of its Development: An Analytical and Historical Review

Abstract

In Arabic language & Literature and Islamic Sciences, “Ilm Sarf wa al-nhwa” (علم الصرف والنحو) are very important. For this reason, scholars in every age have given great importance and have written many useful books on these topic’s. It is impossible to understand Islamic sciences without acquiring this knowledge.

This article will discuss the origins and promotion of these two sciences. In this regard, the services of the ulama and the research of various Islamic   scholars will also be reviewed.
