The Elements of Birds in Ummayyad Poetry

Abstract

Poets of Ummayad Period were interested in discussing the  birds in general, and they were fascinated by the pigeon in particular, because of its features that distinguish it from other types of birds. It fed the imaginations of poets and scholars, so they borrowed their wings and flew to the homes of their loved ones.Birds have drawn the attention of man since they shared life on this planet, and they fed the imaginations of poets and scholars, so they borrowed their wings and flew to the homes of their loved ones, a fantasy if that was not a reality. It is no wonder that the poets showed their attachment to the bird and their love for it, because this is part of their delicate sense and their transparent sense of the manifestations of nature. They expressed the feelings of pain, sorrow, anxiety and distance in their soul.. So they crafted artistic paintings replete with creative images bearing delicate meanings. The article presents the elements of Birds and its significance in Ummayad Period.
