The Short Story in Iraq

Abstract

The short story is a literary art that emerged in the West in the nineteenth century. It has deep roots. It is true that it is influenced by Western literature. According to Muhammad Yusuf Najm, It is not strange or emergency to our Arabic literature, nor is it recent in origin and birth, presented with winds The change coming from the West, but it is deeply rooted and has many branches in our Arab culture.  This article presents the origin and concept of short story in Iraq. The descriptive and analytical method is applied in this article.
