Islam is only religion who secures as well as ensures all possible rights to its non-Muslim minorities living under its territory as it is claimed to be international and everlasting religion. Islam also promises whole man kind to deliver all the rights which are even specified for the believers (Muslims) such as right of religious freedom, social rights, basic rights and political rights. Political rights are considered an immense role in a social life as it is a basic key to be dominant in the society. Non-Muslim minorities are given all rights including religious, social, political as well as basic rights except there are some reservations regarding their governance posts in an Islamic state. As Islamic state is an ideological state so the people who don’t believe in its ideology, how can be a part of it? Modernists often raise objections regarding this very issue so it is the need to over view the Islamic teachings related to this matter. In this article, it is to be discussed in the light of Qur’an, Sunnah and persistent practical model provided us by our Islamic traditions.
