A Critical Analysis of Pervaiz’s Concept of Jinns and Devils

Abstract

The human possessing intellect and wisdom, conceives the importance and reality of invisible faith. This faith also includes the existence of supernatural creatures including jinns and devils. That is a permanent world completely isolated from the world of humans and angels. The supernatural creatures and humans share a few features like wisdom and ethics, difference between good and evil etc. But humans are different from these supernatural creatures in many ways. For example, the origin of humans is different from them. Humans have physical existence and can be seen. On the contrary, they neither have physical existence nor be seen. There is also an order of their birth that reveals the earlier birth of supernatural creatures than the humans in this universe. There is also a variation in the matter of their creation. However, precisely, it can be said that humans are the real-time existents just like supernatural creatures who are permanent and exist in real-time environment. The lifestyle and civilization of supernatural creatures is different from humans. Renouncing the existence and reality of this creation is to disbelieve the reality of this universe. The existence of this supernatural creation can be felt across the world and can also be seen occasionally. It is witnessed in Surah Jinn of the Holy Quran that discusses their reality, lifestyle and thought process etc which proves their existence certainly. However, since the wisdom of all humans is not equal, so a few people do not believe in their existence. One of them is Ghulam Ahmed Pervaiz. The present study provides a critical analysis of Pervaiz’s thoughts on it.
