Abstract

In Christianity, besides Holy Books, ecumenical councils have also been given the status of primary sources. These Holy Books contain the basic concept of salvation. The very concept has been explained and elaborated by these ecumenical councils. This article tries to explain as to what extent these explanations are in accordance with the ancient as well as modern teachings of Christianity. This article also analyzes these decisions of ecumenical councils regarding salvation in the Islamic perspective.
