The Qur’anic metaphors are characterized by unique characteristics that are clothed in a suit of splendor and beauty in expression and magnificence in artistic depiction, which indicates the miraculousness of the Holy Qur’an. This article aims to reveal these characteristics of Sheikh Ibn Ashour, who is considered one of the pioneers of contemporary rhetorical exegesis, as he dealt with Qur’anic metaphors in his exegesis “at-Tahrir wa at-Tanwir” in a wonderful artistic way that expresses the reasoning, phycological state, and tangible event that these metaphors included. He resorts to the figurative language images inherent in the Quranic metaphors, giving them their colors and shades, and through his careful reflection, he highlights the artistic characteristics of the metaphors that made them of great value, especially as they are achieved lofty and noble goals for which the Quran was revealed. This testifies to the length of this great scholar in extracting metaphorical meanings in a unique scientifically way, his creative capabilities, and his artistic innovations in the field of figurative language, through which his deep and comprehensive view is evident, which indicates the extent of his ability and knowledge of the product of his progress and his uniqueness in the eloquence of expressing Qur’anic metaphors.
