The Approach & method of Sheikh Muhammad Karam Shah Al-Azhari in his Tafseer “Ziaul Quran”

Abstract

Muhammad Karam Shah Alazhari is one of the most prominent and great scholar of the Islamic world. He is particularly known as a scholar of Quran and Tafseer in the Sub-continent. He has written many books in which the Ziaul Quran is very popular – A comprehensive exegesis of the Holy Quran. This article carries out a comprehensive study of his Tafseer; Ziaul Quran and his methodology in his tafseer.This book is most celebrated Quranic commentary in Sub-continent. This articles presents the methods, approach  and worth of this book along with his biography.  The purpose of this research was to analyze the methods and identify the approach of Muhammad Karam in his tafser. The purpose of this research is to analyze his  contribution and writing style. The method used in this research is descriptive, analytical and qualitative. The study found that his writing style was unique and comprehensive. He has derived my shariah issues  from the Holy Quran.  The study also recognized him a great socio- religious scholar of all times. At the end, the researcher has drawn many findings and conclusions.
