Dimensions of Guardianship in the light of “Kullukum Raa‘in

Abstract

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said “Surely! Everyone of you is a (shepherd) guardian and is responsible for his charges: The Imam (ruler) of the people is a guardian and is responsible for his subjects; a man is the guardian of his family (household) and is responsible for his subject; a woman is the guardian of her husband’s home and of his children and is responsible for them; and a slave of a man is a guardian of his master’s property and is responsible for it…”. Beside the aspects mentioned in the hadith, there are some other dimensions of subjects (رعیۃ) for example our body (health), our time (life), our abilities, opportunities, atmosphere, environment etc. We are responsible for them and we are accountable for every thing Allah (swt) granted us. This paper deals with different dimensions of responsibility (مسئولیۃ) in the light of Seerat un-Nabi.
