Abstract

Most of Pakistani Arabic poetry is influenced more with scientific color than literary, and most Arabic poets in Pakistan have mentioned the religious trend in their verses. The religious trend includes all that Islam transmits from asceticism, exhortation, guidance, and a call to religious principles. We see many Arabic poets in Pakistan who dealt with this purpose in their poetry and turned to what is appropriate for religion, such as calling for righteous deeds and speaking to and praising Allah (SWT), and praising the Messenger Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), to urge to good morals and to warn against bad, corrupt morals. This paper will deal first with the importance of literature in the field of calling to God. Secondly the emergence of preaching poetry in the Indian-Pakistani subcontinent and thirdly discuss most important issues of the Da`wah in Pakistani Arabic poetry.
