Touches of secrets and wisdom in the Qur’anic arrangement by Sheikh Hassan Muhammad Al-Gujrati

Abstract

The Qur’an is a miraculous script from A to Z. This miracle appears in all its forms and images in the Qur’an and we, humans, are discovering it little by little, because the Qur’an is a sea of knowledge that has no shore. Among this miracle is the secrets and wisdom that the Qur’anic arrangement contains. Everyone who searches for secrets and wisdom in them comes up with new, strange points that are according to the arrangement, leaving the reader baffled by them. The Muslim Scholars sought to know the wisdom and secrets of Holy Qur’an and all of them wanted to increase certainty and faith in the it. Among these scholars, the commentators had great luck, as they mentioned beautiful and wonderful points in the arrangemnt when interpreting the verses. Among them is a scholar from the subcontinent, Muhammad ibn Ahmad, known as Hasan Muhammad al-Gujrati and Ibn al-Naseer, from the tenth century AH. He wrote a brief interpretation of the Holy Qur’an, and he was interested - as he mentioned - in linking the Qur’anic verses with each other in a wonderful manner that no one had ever done before him, in his opinion. This interpretation was called the “Al Tafseer Al Muhammadi.” So, in this interpretation by Sheikh Hassan Muhammad, he touched upon some of the wisdom deposited in the verses of the Qur’an. He mentioned some wisdom hidden in the numbers of the Qur’an, and others in some of the ordering verses from it. This article will present to the readers these examples in order to show them the contribution of the scholars of the subcontinent in this regard. This article has been divided into three headings related to the topic, and ends with a conclusion and some suggestions, God willing.
