A Comparative Study of Common and distinct aspects in āl-Kāshif and Mirqāt

Abstract

Ptrophetic ḥadīth has been a basic source of Islamic Sharīʻah. Apart from other works on ḥadīth, Muhaddithīn have been paying special attention in writing commentaries of ḥadīth collections. One of the famous ḥadīth collections is “Mishkāt al-Masābh” by Khatīb Tabrīzī. Many commenatries of this collection have been written. This paper studies two commenatries of  “Mishkāt al-Masābh” written by Allama Tayibī and Mulla ʻAlī Qārī . It focuses the common and distinct points found in both of these commentaries.
