Education was quite uncommon among Arabs before Bosat e Nabvi to the extent that there was no concept of Arabic orthography. The arrival (of Hazrat Muhammad Pbuh) began a revolution in the Arab world. The Arabs who were known as barbarians, quarrelsome and uncivilized, became the most cultured people under the teachings of The Prophet. The Arabic language got the status of written language from Makkah Mukaramma. To make them (the people) minded towards Allah and to teach them morally and improve their morality was the prime objective of The Chosen Prophet (Al Mujtaba) PBUH. The task of building character through education, which the Prophet (PBUH) started from Dar E Arqam, was continued by his followers who did not let the beacon of knowledge diminish. Research tells us that along with the physiological and social teachings, the Mentor of Humanity also taught His companions the order/sequence of alphabets and orthography. Hazrat Moavia, also known as Kaatib-e-wahi, used to write according to the instructions given by the prophet (PBUH).
The concept of primary education which was stressed by the Europeans of the 19th century was acted by the last prophet (PBUH) 14 years ago. Concept of education for adults and women that we beget from the end of the Risalat prophet's reign even the Progressist world of today has not witnessed. a lot of female companions of the Prophet (PBUH) who got benefited from his teachings became intellectual. These female companions of the holy prophet (PBUH) benefitted others with the light of their knowledge and actions. So, the distinguished practice of education and teaching that was set, is a lifetime source of emancipation for the ones to follow.
