Abstract

Sunan Abu Dawood is one of the Kutub al- Sittah (six major Hadith Collections) collected by Imam Abu   Suleiman ibn ash’ath al -sijistani. It encompasses the subject matters of Islamic law in a well-organized manner. No other book of Hadith really compares to it. Due to its authenticity & popularity among academic circle, various books have been written for its explanation’s and clarification. 

Mulana Zakaria has mentioned 22 explanation’s in the preface of Bazl ul-Majhood, while Dr Taqi-ud-Din Nadvi has Mentioned 40 explanation’s in his book. This articale gives an introductory overview of some of famous explanation’s of Sunan Abi Dawood.
