Abstract

This article aims to reveal the fundamentals of Quranic metaphorical imagery and their aesthetics. The Quranic images constitute figurative imagery, which are conveyed by figurative language such as in metaphors, similes, symbols, etc. This figurative language used in the Quran can certainly be looked in more detail. Metaphorical Imagery is formed from a group of fundamentals that unite and integrate to be the manifestation of the rhetorical inimitability of Quran. It allows the reader to draw various pictures of different situations with his imagination. The metaphorical imagery in the Quran is not separated from the linguistics, which is one of the most important elements that embodied the beauty of metaphor in it. The metaphorical symbol in the Holy Quran also expresses various connotations that it summarizes allows the imagination to draw inspiration and extract whatever it wants from the semantics, which confirms its importance in building the Quranic metaphorical imagery.
