Commandments and Significance of Veil in Modern Day: A Research Review

Abstract

Hijab has been a matter of discussion amongst Muslims for ages, ulama supporting with concrete proofs, however the times we live in, the Ladies  are more inclined towards wearing Hijab rather than going  for veil. Scholars discuss about the Hijab of the lady but not for man. Though in the Holy Quran , men's hijab has been mentioned  first. Some extremist took the narrations of veil in the extream way. On the other hand scholars have tried to reconcile between both viewpoints by offering choice to women whether they like to go for Hijab or Niqab  some like  Albani have even gone to the extent of justifying that ruling on Hijab supercedes that of Niqaab.
