Responsible use of Public Office in the light of the teachings of the Prophet PBUH and the life of the Caliphs.

Abstract

Islam is a complete code of life which provides guidance to its follower in every walk of life, whether it is individual or collective life and whether a person is acting a husband, wife, son or working as ruler or as part of general public, Islam have certain rules and boundaries for each one in his capacity. Rulers and head of the states have a bigger responsibility as they have to lead the nation while having the power and state resources. Islam also advises them to work for the betterment and development of common people, live an exemplary life and act responsibility while utilizing state resources and power of their positions.

In this paper, verses of Quran, some parts of the life of last prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم and four khulafa is illustrated as a ruler that how they rule on Muslim world, how they behave while using state resources to infer how a present-day leader and ruler should spend his life as a ruler and utilize resources of the state and power of his position.
