Bullying Behavior in Children: Prevention in the light of Islamic Teachings

Abstract

Bullying behavior is a complex issue with several possible reasons in the child's local and broader social, cultural, and psychological environments. This research examined how Islamic beliefs may assist prevent bullying among adolescents. The findings of the research indicate that Islamic teachings lay an early emphasis on establishing respect, empathy, and compassion for others in children.

Educators, parents, and community members may all play vital roles in protecting children against bullies. Participants said that a decrease in bullying was a direct outcome of the focus on compassion, understanding, and respect for others in Islamic education. Participants also stated that the Islamic focus on forgiveness and reconciliation helped to a more pleasant learning environment.

The study also revealed that teaching children the importance of being courteous and kind to others enhanced their behavior. Children exposed to Islamic teachings exhibited increased compassion and decreased hostility. Youngsters who were exposed to Islamic teachings were also more likely to speak out against bullying and demonstrate sympathy with victims.

In conclusion, the findings of this study suggest that Islamic teachings may be a useful instrument in the battle against bullying among adolescents. By cultivating respect, empathy, and compassion in their kids, teachers, parents, and community members may all contribute to a more peaceful and cooperative learning environment.
